Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. Psalm 66:16

The Gospel Is Not Just A Word

A comedian once said this:
Why is it that when we talk to God, we call it prayer, but when God speaks back, we are called schizophrenic?

The first time I heard this phrase, I thought it was hilarious. Now when I read it, I find it a bit sad because I am aware of the truth behind this quote. The fact that God spoke to countless individuals throughout scripture, should not be seen as exceptional, but rather as examples and merely something that has been lost within the modern Christian culture.

Jesus explains how our relationship is meant to be with Him and our Heavenly father extensively in the gospels. And among one of the many references, He says this in John 10:
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me”. (He’s not literally talking about sheep obviously! He is referring to you and I)

And, although we might be aware of this, many struggle with the concept. We have formed many- in our own mind- plausible reasons for this to be just a little too weird, or only supposed to be for those very special few. But, what if it was possible? What if Jesus is, who he says he is. What if I told you it was possible to experience this?

Because this is exactly what we do at our retreats. And once you get a taste of this- oh, man! The joy will leave you wanting more. A deep longing to hear more from God and what He wants for you as his son.

This is not just a story, it is the offer of the gospel. And the gospel is not just a word you know. It is power. It is the power to transform your heart, your mind and your thinking.
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power” (1 Corinthians 4:20).

When it comes to navigating our lives as men, clarity is the key. And clarity comes through relationship with God. Trying to get clarity on subjects in life without that relationship will always remain a struggle on many levels.

If we are truly to find the life that God intended for us; how do I love well? How do I father my children well? Can I break free from my addictions? Where is this anger or fear coming from?
To name a few, then we must come back to that fathering relationship, that intimate conversational relationship to truly discover who we are meant to be.

It can be done. This is what a Boot Camp is designed for. To help you re-discover this lost treasure.

Registration is now open for our October event in the Netherlands and our November event in South Australia.

It would be an honour to see you at one of them.

In Love,

Michael
